Allied Practitioner of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (APACBN)
The mission of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition is to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the public through an examination and certification process that assesses professional and clinical competence of health care providers in nutrition.
The purpose of the ACBN’s Second Tier certification, Allied Professional of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (APACBN), is to promote change within the traditional health care industry in the United States and internationally by certifying advanced, masters-level professionals who are focused on providing a nutritional model of preventative health care in a variety of professional settings. The ACBN conducts certification activities in a manner that upholds standards for competent practice in the healthcare specialty of clinical nutrition.
The ACBN conducts a certification exam that adequately measures the knowledge and skill required to earn and maintain the APACBN credential. A job analysis study is conducted every five years in order to ensure the validity and currency of the exam content. The ACBN conducts certification activities to assure public safety, quality assurance and clinical competence.
